Ana Aires Carpinteiro

Business Development Director

Ana is a sustainability expert with 14 years of passionate work experience across 5 countries. At Nexus, she is driving access to funding for low-carbon development projects and organizations, namely via the voluntary carbon markets. Ana coordinates the Business Development team, delivering Carbon Asset Management, Fundraising for Nexus Funds’ capitalization, Corporate Client account management, Donor and Investor relations, and Consultancy proposals. Ana is a homemaker that enjoys healthy food, and a face-your-fears type of adventurer with a knack for rock climbing. Ana also loves comedy.

Anne-Laure Le Cozler

Marketing & Communications Manager

Anne-Laure has international communication and digital strategy experience both in consulting firms and NGO’s across Europe and Asia. She has particular expertise in leading international projects in CRM, online communication, website development, data mining, and omnichannel user experience. She is now focusing on serving the communities in developing countries while contributing to their development.

Anne-Laure loves exploring the world and has been living in Asia for 4 years. She likes climbing and practicing yoga.

Chanvibol Meng

Technical Services Manager

Chanvibol is a technical expert with more than 10 years of experience in sustainable development projects in Asia, particularly renewable energy and water supply. He provides technical support to Nexus’ carbon development projects, clean energy financing facilities, and other energy and water supply related projects. Chanvibol holds a Master of Engineering in sustainable energy from Australia’s RMIT University and a Master of Engineering in eco-environmental civil engineering from Japan’s Ritsumeikan University. Chanvibol likes singing and playing Badminton.

Ha Hoang Thanh

Technical Manager

Ha Hoang is an international professional with 10 years of experience in managing technical services for carbon projects, working closely together with government and partners. He oversees all technical work undertaken by the technical team and is responsible for quality control. He manages the technical services for carbon projects throughout the complete carbon project cycle. Ha holds two bachelor degrees in Electrical Engineering and International Economics. Ha likes exploring nature with his son and is always up for new challenges from writing songs to running marathons.

Jennifer Louie

Executive Director

Jennifer has over 15 years of experience in financial services and is passionate about social finance, economic development and the sustainable growth of MSMEs. She joined Nexus for Development to drive its inspiring mission. Jennifer has an extensive background in corporate finance, asset management, and business development and most recently managed an emerging markets debt portfolio for sub-Saharan Africa. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Economics and is currently pursuing a graduate program in international development at Harvard University.

Justin Bergendahl

Head of Renewables and Climate Asset Management

Justin currently focuses the majority of his time on the Pioneer Facility team after working for over two years with Nexus on our carbon finance functions. Justin has experience working for the past seven years for carbon market platforms, the United Nations Sustainable Energy Division, and the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development on carbon emission and energy programs. Justin holds a master’s degree in Energy and Earth Resources from the University of Texas and a certificate from Duke University on Global Policy (Environment, Energy, and Economics). Justin is an insatiable learner, from photography to coding, he is very inspired. 

Margarita Manzo

Senior Investment Manager

Margarita is responsible for the overall management and reporting for Nexus’ innovative financing funds including pipeline development, due diligence, loan structuring, and post-investment management. She has 8 years of energy finance experience from both the developer and funder sides of the business in Asia and Africa. Margarita holds an MBA degree as well as an Energy and Finance Certificate from HEC Paris and a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Engineering from Ateneo de Manila University. Margarita cannot resist a sport challenge from CrossFit to Ultimate and Badminton, she is definitely a team player.

Pol Raguénès

Business Development Lead - Europe

Pol is an expert on VER Carbon Credit sales with more than 10 years of experience. He represented the commercial interests of more than 30 energy & water projects in the world (Latin America, South-East Asia). He concluded multi-million VER sales agreements for these projects. Pol joined Nexus to continue his work towards helping project developers achieve their financing objectives, in particular through the Voluntary Carbon Market. He holds a master degree in International Affairs with specialization in Energy. Pol is a pianist and a nature aficionado.

Sarou Long

Clean Energy Project Manager

Sarou specializes in climate change and natural resource management with a focus on community engagement. At Nexus, he supports the origination of projects and programs that match Nexus’s financial services. Sarou holds a Masters in Climate Change from the Australian National University. He worked directly with local governments and communities in the development and implementation of projects. He also has experience working with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), The Forest Trust and the Non-Timber Forest Products Exchange Programme. In his free time, Sarou participates actively in his community and his children’s education.

Sreychantheary Khut

Finance and Administration Manager

Theary is responsible for the financial management of Nexus suite of services, financial planning, monitoring, and reporting.
She also ensures Nexus compliance with relevant local regulations, internal policies, and donors and investors’ requirements. She holds a Master’s degree in Finance and Banking. Theary likes cycling and playing badminton.

Ben Jeffreys

Member Representative Director

Ben is the CEO of ATEC Biodigesters International, a social enterprise start-up that produces, sells and distributes household biogas systems in Cambodia. Each system produces gas for cooking as well as organic fertilizer that is estimated to save an average rural household $260 per year. Ben has more than 10 years of experience managing teams in the social enterprise, international development, and corporate sectors. His previous roles include National Development Manager at The School for Social Entrepreneurs, Product Development Manager at Oxfam Australia, and Regional Sales Executive at Westfield Ltd.

Jeffrey Lamb

Board Chair

Jeffrey is an international executive with over 15 years of experience operating at the intersection of business and government in the pursuit of business, economic and social growth. Jeffrey currently serves as an Advisor with UNDP’s Climate Change team, an Oversight Committee Member of the “Investing in Infrastructure” program in Cambodia of the Australian government, a Fellow with the Center for Asia Leadership, and as an Advisor to a select group of technology companies. Jeffrey holds an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, as well as an MA in International Management and a BA in Government from the University of Texas at Dallas.

Jochen Nimtschek

External Director

Company working on technical payments and financial services (retail banking, P&C and life insurance, wealth management) with a focus in Europe, Australia, and Southeast Asia. In addition to his last leadership role, Jochen has three years of pre-sales experience with a payment technology start-up in Europe and the US. Jochen’s functional expertise is in customer strategy, marketing, experience design, customer loyalty as well as segmentation, distribution channels, sales force effectiveness. Jochen is passionate about training and talent development and brings to the board extensive knowledge having led large-scale programs across diverse organizations and driving change.

Libby Wallace

External Director

After 30 years working in human resources and community development for the state government of South Australia, Libby lived in Cambodia for four years where she worked in human resources and organizational development. At the beginning of 2018, Libby took up a role as HR Manager with a social enterprise focusing on providing access to clean water to the people of Uganda. Libby has extensive experience in organizational development and human resource management, and she enjoys exploring how an organization’s culture and structure contributes or hinders the accomplishment of its goals. Libby’s recent work has focused on organizational strengthening including the redesign of the Board of Management for the Cambodian Physical Therapy Association as well as the development of their private clinic.

Martin Hiller

External Director

Martin Hiller, Director General of REEEP, has over 30 years of experience working in sustainability issues, climate change, and clean energy policy, environmental campaigns and communications. Prior to joining REEEP, Martin had a distinguished career with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) from 2002 to 2011 where he led campaigns and communications in WWF’s global climate and energy program culminating in the WWF campaign for COP15 in Copenhagen which mobilized 6.5 million sign-ups, the highest number of any NGO.

Maya Stewart

Member Representative Director

Maya Khonje-Stewart represents Hestian on the Nexus board. With a passion for environmental preservation, Maya is a renewable energy advocate with more than 10 years of professional experience in the private and NGO sectors. Maya has used her skills in business development, sales, and logistics, project management, budgeting, and negotiation to promote fuel-efficient technologies. Her successes include the development of innovative marketing strategies for improved cookstoves and solar products in Malawi. Maya is actively involved with the development of the new Malawi Energy Strategy, which has evolved to meet the energy needs of the local population through biomass technology. Maya also sits on several boards for other environmental INGO’s including local micro-finance institutions and the Rotary Club of Lilongwe.

Rachel Pringle

External Director

Rachel is the former CEO of Hydrologic Social Enterprise. Rachel worked previously with International Development Enterprises (IDE), where she advanced the organization’s micro-finance initiatives and managed the launch of iDE’s in-house credit unit and carbon finance. Rachel’s career achievements include technical consultancies with reputable financial and engineering institutions in the UK and South Africa, where she provided expert advice on a diverse range of projects.

Thomas Blackburn


Thomas is an experienced sustainability and carbon professional currently working as Business Manager at EcoAct. With over 6 years of experience in Southeast Asia developing funds for low-carbon projects, he has a strong grasp of value-chain opportunities and results-based solutions.

Yakub Hossain

Member Representative Director

Dr. Yakub Hossain is a development expert in Improved Cookstove (ICS) research, development, testing, dissemination, promotion and marketing globally. With more than 30 years of experience in rural and urban contexts, Dr. Yakub is well respected for his extensive experience in WASH and the environment. As Deputy Executive Director at the Village Education Resource Center (VERC), Dr. Yakub is responsible for the program management, implementation, monitoring and evaluation in rural and urban areas.
