2021 hasn’t been a walk in the park yet we are grateful for all we achieved. Some highlights:
- #carbonfinance We are now part of one of the Green recovery partnerships announced by DFAT in November that aims to scale up bioenergy on commercial farms in Vietnam; the partnership includes E-GREEN, SNV, HD Bank, and the Australian Government.
- #impactinvesting We provided a loan to Sumba Sustainable Solutions (3S) for the electrification of 5,000 households in Indonesia; to OREEi for a solar-powered water desalination plant to bring clean water to Malalison island community; and to TechnoHill to complete 2 micro-grid projects reaching 2,250 people in Myanmar.
- #consultancy We continue to play an active role in the EmPower (Women for Climate Resilient Societies) Project initiated by UN Environment Programme (UNEP) to support women’s entrepreneurship in the renewable energy sector, and we recently started a new initiative with iDE Cambodia, commissioned by the Cambodia Climate Change Alliance (CCCA), to accelerate the transition to ‘clean’ cooking in Cambodia.
In 2022, we are expanding and planning to go deeper to serve more social enterprises and initiatives delivering clean energy, clean cooking, and water solutions to underserved communities here in Southeast Asia. As the impact investing and carbon markets are seeing record capital flows, we aim to leverage them into more impacts delivered by the innovative companies and impactful projects we support.
Looking forward to collaborating with you and achieving great successes in 2022!
Till then, take good care!
