Nexus would like to invite all stakeholders to provide input and feedback on the proposed Programme of Activity (PoA) titled “Advanced Clean Cooking Solutions in the Greater Mekong Region” as part of the Gold Standard Design Consultation Round. The programme, beginning in the first half of 2016, will register for carbon finance under the Gold Standard carbon certification process (GS ID 4978). As part of this process, Nexus requests feedback on the overall design framework of the programme.
The objective of the proposed PoA is to promote, implement and scale up the distribution of clean cooking solutions which are efficient and safe and reduce indoor air pollution (smoke) in rural and urban households in Cambodia, Laos & Vietnam. The overall development objective is to improve the sustainability of household energy sources, household health and household energy economics.
The programme will replace inefficient traditional stoves and cooking practices, thus reducing non-renewable biomass fuel consumption and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
