The Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN) released their practical guidelines on impact investment reporting. The guidelines are a continuation of their previous report “Blueprint on Impact Assessment” released in 2012.
The case studies conducted by in 2015 concluded that Venture Philanthropy Organisations (VPOs) are struggling with the right way to implement impact assessment. They have questions such as where to get started on reporting, how to assess the quality of a framework or template, and how to find best practices.
AVPN’s new report defines impact assessment and compares the definition to other approaches in social and business sectors. It helps organisations understand their Theory of Change and provides a logical model for their operations.
The practical framework guides organisations into how to make impact assessment feasible and how to present it in a simple and effective way.
Nexus’s contribution gives an insight on reporting the impacts of low-carbon development projects. Nexus applies renown certification mechanisms to claim emission reductions. Nexus also captures the value of the economic and social benefits with the Social Return On Investment (SROI) methodology.
