Empowering Asia with Clean Energy: Key projects in driving change

From Cambodia to Laos to Indonesia and beyond, we have unlocked financing for 25 clean energy projects  Here are some of the standout projects we’re  proud to support:

Biogas for rural Cambodia: National Biodigester Programme (NBP)

• Converts animal waste into clean biogas energy for rural households.
• Provides clean cooking fuel, reduces emissions, and creates organic fertilizer.
• Nexus supports NBP with Gold Standard certification, carbon credit issuances, access to international carbon credits buyers.

Healthier homes with Improved Cook Stoves (ICS) in Laos

• Distributes energy-efficient stoves that cut fuel use, emissions, and indoor air pollution.
• Aims to deploy 420,000 stoves, creating healthier homes and lower fuel costs.
• Nexus team of carbon experts work with ICS Laos on carbon credit certification and market access for long-term sustainability.

Biochar based fertilizers, HUSK, Southeast Asia

• Utilizes rice husks, an agricultural byproduct, to produce clean electricity and biochar-based fertilizers.
• Our team of debt financing experts worked with HUSK to confirm a USD 250,000 loan from Pioneer Facility, managed by Nexus for Development, to scale regenerative agriculture and off-grid power systems.
