An introduction message from our new Executive Director Jennifer Louie

Dear Partners,

I am honored to join the Nexus team as our organization commences its next chapter of work progressing the sustainable development agenda across Asia and Africa.  With my experience in emerging markets corporate finance, I am excited by the prospect of working together, and welcome opportunities to engage in discussions with all of you.  I envision that our open dialogue will generate new ideas, and help build upon our successes to date.  It is my hope that alongside our members and partners, Nexus will continue to identify ways to scale our existing programs and support meaningful growth in the clean energy and clean water sectors.

Further to the above, I encourage all of you to email me with any thoughts or feedback regarding how we can further strengthen our respective relationships and look forward to working together.

I would like to wish Claire all of the very best in her next endeavor and share my appreciation for her commitment and contribution to Nexus over the last four years.

and a message from our outgoing Executive Director Claire Dufour

Dear Partners,

Exactly four years ago I joined Nexus excited to lead a unique cooperative of development practitioners, each striving to make access to clean energy and safe water a reality for all.
Since then, our membership, partners and services have evolved, and I am proud that we have stayed true to our core mission: to tackle market failures by filling gaps in knowledge and finance to achieve climate-friendly development.

With a remarkable team in Asia and Europe, we have grown as a key network and finance partner, making local solutions count. We continue to support inspiring projects and organizations through carbon financing and engage our members in knowledge and best practices sharing. We now have several operational financing models, including our Pioneer Facility which provides debt to social enterprises positively impacting poverty and climate change.
After these four years, I am reaffirmed in my belief that NGOs, donors and impact investors can continue to be more efficient and impactful by infusing collaboration across their activities as well as transparency on their successes and failures.  Nexus will continue to make meaningful connections to increase low-carbon financing in Asia in support of you and the valuable work you do.

I am leaving Nexus at the end of the week, and am pleased to be passing the baton to Jennifer Louie, who will bring a fresh perspective and great leadership to the organization in the coming years.

I hope we can stay in touch and send you a warm and heartfelt thank you for being our partners, supporters and friends!
